INTER-MINISTERIAL STEARING COMMITTEE FOR COVID-19 DELIVERED PROTECTIVE MATERIALS AGAINST COVID-19 TO GAMBIA FEDERATION OF THE DISABLED

ursuant to the prevalence of Coronavirus in the Western Countries which later extended to some African Countries and later, in The Gambia, the Ministry Of Health Of The Gambia immediately thought it wise to establish an Inter-Ministerial Committee that would be so responsible to investigate, monitor, inform and by extension, provide support to those affected with the Global Pandemic and also even to those not affected with the provision of materials to use against Coronavirus. The committee also offers proper counselling and usages of the materials provided to those who received same.

It is against this backdrop that, the said committee today Thursday 4th June 2020 considered Persons With Disabilities and reached the umbrella federation of Persons With Disabilities in order to present protective materials for earlier prevention against Covid-19. The materials presented to the federation include;
1000 Gloves, 1000 Masks, and 8 Cartons of sanitizers.The Director of Medical and Health Mr. Modou Njie said, Persons With Disabilities are indeed part of the inclusion of this committee and that of the Ministry Of Health. He said the committee will support the federation in crisis and to ensure delivery of these materials to the various Disabled Peoples Organisation across the country. The Executive Director Mr. Modou Bahoum thanked the committee for the gesture.
