Disabled Group Distributes Assistive Devices to Disable Refugees

The Florence A. Tolbert and the Disabled Advocate (FATDA) in partnership with the Liberia Refugee Repatriation Resettlement Commission (LRRRC) have distributed Assistive devices to Ivorian Refugees living with disabilities in the South eastern region of Liberia.

According to the Founder and chief Executive officer of the Organization, Mr. Samuel M. Dean, the distribution was done in three Southeastern Counties that are basically occupied by Ivorian Refugees including Nimba, Grand Gedeh and MaryLand respectively.

He said the distribution of the items included Wheelchairs, White Cans, Mobility Carts to provide Mobility for people living with disabilities, adding that the items will help facilitate the movement and put smile on the faces of disabled Refugees who are desperately in need.

However, the beneficiaries were overwhelmed of these Materials, because of the timeliness. They also extend their thanks and appreciation to United Nations High Commission on Refugee (UNHCR) and Liberia Refugee Repatriation Resettlement Commission (LRRRC) for their support to the Florence A. Tolbert Disable Advocate for the gesture. The disable refugees noted since the Ivorian Civic Crisis in 2003, this is the first of its kind.
